  11. How do I know I won’t be “spammed”?
Do not worry, you’re information is secure and will never be sold or distributed (no spam!) We are equipped with the tightest internet security standards to ensure your data remains secure.
  12. Why do I have multiple usernames and passwords throughout the site?
At American Legion Travel, we take our members’ online security extremely serious. That is why we have built our information structure on multiple databases with secure redundancy to ensure the privacy and security of member data.

The American Legion Travel site is mainly comprised of three modules: the Community, the Forums and the Travel Booking modules. Each module contains its own separate, secure database structure in order to prevent data “leakage” or malicious attacks against members’ information. What does this mean? Well, it basically means that your profiles’ information, whether it be for the Community or the Forums or the Travel Booking modules, are kept separate from one another so that they remains secure, while allowing the entire system itself to be both scalable (able to “grow” and upgrade) and dynamic. For instance, if one module of the site was being maintained or upgraded, you would not lose access to the other two. This is highly unlike some other online services that not only mesh their members’ data together, creating an insecure user interface, but also sell member data to third-parties while inadvertently allowing malicious attackers access to their members’ entire profile system.

Now, you may choose to “synchronize” your profiles by giving them all the same username and password combinations, or keep them entirely separate. That decision is up to you! But remember, your data will always remain secure with us.
